How do I order a map?

All of my maps are available to buy online via The Northern Bird website (www.thenorthernbird.co.uk). I also have a smaller range available on etsy.com and greetings cards for sale on thortful.com.

How much do you charge for delivery?

Delivery within the United Kingdom is free of charge (yes, you read that right)! If you would like a map delivering anywhere else there’s a flat fee of £5.00 to cover postage costs.

Can I order a map of where I live?

Yes, yes, yes! I’m generally a nosey person and I would LOVE to draw a map of where you live. I have a limited number of slots available per month for ‘Draw me a map’. Just add this item to your basket, provide me with a postcode and a few other details and I’ll draw you a map!

Is there a waiting list for ‘Draw me a map’?

If there are no more slots available in my monthly map drop sign up to my mailing list and I’ll let you know when more become available.

How long will it take to receive my map?

All my maps are printed just for you! Orders within the UK are sent by Royal Mail second class delivery so you can expect to receive your map within 5 - 7 days. Delivery to the rest of the world will take a little longer.

Drawings from my ‘Draw me a map’ range are researched, hand drawn and printed by me. The usual turnaround time for a personalised map is 3 - 4 weeks, but if you are ordering a map for a special occasion, please let me know and I will try to work with your deadline.

Do you draw maps of places outside the North of England?

I’m best known for my Northern maps, but I’m more than happy to draw anywhere in the United Kingdom (I’ll even bestow upon you the title of ‘Honorary Northerner’ for free!).

Can I order a map as a gift?

Yes! ‘Draw me a map’ makes a perfect birthday, anniversary or wedding present for a loved one. As long as you have the person’s UK postcode, I can draw a map for anyone!

Can I order a map to use for my wedding stationery?

If you want to add a personal touch to your wedding, I can create a special ‘Draw me a map’ package just for you. Some options include, a map of your venue to help your guests find their way, table numbers with places special to you or a timeline showing where you and your partner were born, met and married. The possibilities are endless! I love weddings so just contact me and we can talk more.

Do you have a sustainablity policy?

I want to make sure my business is as environmentally friendly as possible. The paper your map is printed on is certified for the traceability of the wood fibers stemming from non-threatened forests. I don't use plastics in my packaging and pledge to continue to find new ways to make my business more sustainable.

Do you offer refunds?

As all of my items are printed just for you, I don’t normally offer refunds but if something is wrong then please contact me. I want you to be happy with your purchase.
